TruFal Blogger

I have decided to change the name of this blog to TruFal Blogger.

If you are a regular reader of this blog you may be aware that I have recently been selected as the MK PPC for Truro and Falmouth.

I have thought long and hard about this because I am very happy and proud to be living in Illogan and serving my community on the Parish Council. I am not and will not 'desert' Illogan in pursuit of a seat at Westminster.

However, if I am to do the best job for Mebyon Kernow and for Cornwall that I can over the next year or so I need to maximixe every potential opportunity that I have to get the MK message across - and in particular my general election constituency of Truro and Falmouth.

While the name has changed, I have kept the web address the same as I am aware and am very grateful to several people and organisations that have linked to this blog from their own internet sites. The last thing that I want to do is break those links.

Many thanks to anyone who occasionally drops by here - I hope you will continue to do so!

Gwella,

Stephen

  2. So, your point is that you're not a "TruFal" blogger at all, but you'd like people to think you are? Meanwhile, the folks of Illogan have a councillor that's claiming allegence to Falmouth. It completely alienates the majority of your electorate too, even if people believed you, a Truronian wouldn't be happy that a PPCs focus is on Falmouth!

    Poor logic.

  3. Hello Anonymous.

It's a shame you have to hide behnd a veil of anonymity as it means that readers may find it harder to see whether you have a hidden agenda in making your comment.

For myself, I can't decide if you are being deliberately cynical or obtusely honest.

    Personally I think cynically obtuse.

This is a political blog and I will be running for a political office of Member of Parliament. I think most readers are aware of this.

I think it is also widely accepted that, as a political blog, I use this very small space on the world wide web to put accross my personal opinion. My major focus, in terms of campaigning, over the coming year will very much be the general election and I feel that I need to use every opportunity that I have to do my best in that.

Does this mean that I will abandon Illogan? Hardly - I am continuing my voluntary role as a parish councillor including chairing the planning committee and playing a leading role in establishing a neighbourhood plan for Illogan.

Am I focussing entirely on Falmouth? Not at all - and I don't see what makes you claim that I am. I am looking at issues and working with people accross the whole of the Truro and Falmouth constituency and accross Cornwall as a whole.

This is because I passionately believe in self determination for Cornwall and that the best way for us to address the social and economic challenges that face us is by making the strategic decisions for ourselves instead of being tied to Westminster's apron strings.

Am I a politician? I don't know - I leave that for others to judge. But if I am then I am a conviction politician and not a career driven one like so many in the Westminster based parties.
